Superficial skin peels promote even, controlled and accelerated exfoliation (shedding) of old skin cells. Although the skin naturally replaces these old skin cells with new ones, that process slows down as we age. Skin peels are very beneficial for rejuvenating the skin and stimulating the growth of new skin cells. As we age, the skin of the neck and face begins to loosen and sag. It’s texture changes and it can start to look weathered. Factors that contribute to this include sun exposure, poor diet, stress and underlying medical problems.
All these signs of ageing can be improved with skin peeling. Skin peels can reduce the size of skin pores and improve the texture of the skin.
Clearskincare makes a variety of superficial skin peels which can be used individually or layered to produce a stronger, deeper peel, targeting different skin problems. Clearskincare also makes a number of low strength minipeels for patients to use at home to enhance the results of their in-clinic peels.
Glycolic Acid Peels
Are the best peels to start with because they are good for most skins and will produce a good instant brightening effect on the skin, leading to excellent patient satisfaction.
Vitamin C Peels
Vitamin C is an excellent anti-oxidant, skin rejuvenator & skin lightener. They are also an excellent introduction to peeling for patients who are a little nervous. There is minimal discomfort from pure Vitamin C peels and they can be reapplied weekly.
Salicylic Peels
Suitable for skin types that are congested or have active acne. Salicylic acid is able to deslove sebum / dead skin, cell plugs that block pores in scene prone skin.
How many treatments are required?
It is important to remember that improving skin texture and pigmentation will require repeated peeling and the use of appropriate home cosmeceuticals to deliver results.
What should I expect when I have my peel?
The peel will take a total of 15 minutes to complete. After a thorough cleanse the peel will be gently applied to your skin, where it will be left for approximately 3 minutes. Your skin will feel hot and tingly while the peel is applied, and you will be offered a fan to help cool and soothe the skin. A therapist will be with you at all times to make sure you are comfortable and will then gently remove the peel using a cool water spray.
What should I do after my peel?
You will need to stay out of the sun for 24 hours after your peel, and continue to rinse your face with cool water if tingling reoccurs. Avoid putting anything on the skin for 4-6 hours after your peel, and do not use any active ingredient products on the skin for 24 hours.
Treatment Cost
All peels are $70. Pakages from $50
