Purple, Varicose, Spider Vein Removal using Sclerotherapy
Edgecliff and South Bank only
Varicose veins are the result of a dysfunction of the valves of the large veins in our groin. In some people there is backflow pressure on the valves as blood moves from foot to the heart. This can occur where people stand for long periods, or during pregnancy, or can be due to genetic factors. The pressure results in the vein swelling, pain and eventually a varicose vein.
How Sclerotherapy works?
A safe solution is injected directly into the vein, irritating it and causing the walls of the vein to collapse and stick together.
What should I expect after my treatment?
Within a short time and after several 30 minute treatments, evidence of the exposed vein is diminished. Large veins can be treated without invasive surgery using these regular treatments. If you have a predisposition to varicose veins the treated vein is unlikely to return, but new veins may develop.
How many treatments will I need?
Depending on the extent of the veins to be treated, several 30 minute treatments usually 2 weeks apart may be required.
Cost:
From $230 per treatment. (Medicare rebate may apply)
