What is Fractional CO2 Laser treatment?

Fractional CO2 laser treatment is an exciting technology that successfully corrects many cosmetic skin conditions. Fractional CO2 laser treatments give excellent results for skin resurfacing of scars, sun damage and fine lines and wrinkles.

How does Fractional CO2 Laser treatment work?

Fractional CO2 laser treatments produce microbeams that vaporize tiny columns of the target tissues. The body’s natural healing processes then create new, healthy tissue to replace the columns of lasered  tissue – improving the skin's condition.

How does Fractional CO2 Laser treatments differ from traditional laser resurfacing treatments?

Traditional full-surface ablative laser treatments deliver effective results but require significant downtime – patients experience a much longer healing process, and the risk of complications, including infection, is much greater. Fractional CO2 Laser treatments provide results as good as traditional ablative laser treatments, with far less downtime and risk.

What are the benefits of Fractional CO2 Laser treatments?

How many Fractional CO2 Laser treatments will I need?

The number of treatments necessary will depend on the condition being treated, and how effectively your skin grows new collagen. It may take several treatments to achieve the desired results. You should consider how quickly you would like to see results and how much downtime you are willing to experience.

What should I expect after treatment?

Immediately following the treatment, your skin will be red, may be swollen and will feel very hot. These effects are normal, and indicate a successful treatment. Any swelling typically subsides within a day, and most redness dissipates within a few days. 
Some clients may experience crusting or scabbing, and occasional clients may experience a small breakout.

What precautions should I follow after treatment?

For best results and to prevent complications, all clients should strictly follow their post-treatment care protocol. For two weeks following treatment, avoid any sun exposure.

How long will it take before I can put on make-up, go out in public, go to work, the gym, etc.?

Following Fractional CO2 laser treatment, depending on the intensity of treatment provided, you may be able to apply make-up and resume your normal activities within 4 -5 days.
